It wasn’t until the mid-1980s that Australian galleries started collecting Indigenous art. Come along to hear Margo Neale (Senior Research Fellow, Senior Curator and Principal Advisor to the Director on Indigenous matters at the National Museum of Australia) trace the shift from viewing Indigenous works simply as cultural product to artworks in their own right.
